Art club will meet Tuesday after school until 4 p.m. in room c206. It's not too late to join! Bring a friend and create in a fun environment. See Mrs. Carson in C206 for questions.


Key Club is hosting a diaper drive next week, September 23 through September 26th, for Happy Bottoms, Kansas City’s local diaper bank. The first block that collects the highest number of diapers in sizes 4, 5 and 6 will win a root beer float party! The more diapers we collect the more new mothers in need we can help!


2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Award

Applications are now open for 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, honoring students in grades 5-12 for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service.If you have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred at least in part after September 1, 2018, you are eligible!

First step, complete the application at spirit.prudential.com AND submit it to Mrs. Sharp, counseling office, by November 5th.

PHS will then select ONE Local Honoree who will continue to the state level competition.


QuestBridge2019 National College Match

QuestBridge connects academically outstanding high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with FULL four year scholarships to the nation's leading colleges, such as Stanford,Yale, Amherst & UChicago.

Seniors who fit this criteria are encouraged to apply! Additional information can be found online.

World Cultures Club will be meeting this Tuesday, September 24th after school in room A204. We will be watching a movie about China and enjoying Chinese food. All are welcome. Please see Ms. Walker if you have any questions.


AP CHANGES- Deadline to order your exam!!

Please note the change in AP exam ordering. Any student taking an AP course 1st semester or a Split block class and would like to sit for the AP exam in May will have to order and pay for their exam by November 1st, 2019. This is different from past years. If you have an AP class 2nd semester you will order and pay for that exam at a later date. If you are interested in signing up for the AP exam please bring $95 per exam to counseling by November 1st. There will be a $40 late fee assessed for any exam ordered after November 1st. If you have any questions or need financial assistance please contact Mrs. Dorrell.


PSAT Test Information:

The PSAT test will be given to interested sophomores & juniors on Wednesday, October 16th at Park Hill South High School.*THIS TEST IS OPTIONAL.

The cost of the test is $20.00. Students/Parents can register online through Infinite Campus. Simply log on to the Portal and select the MY ACCOUNTS…OPTIONAL PAYMENTS. Here you will find the 2019 PSAT.
Payment by credit card or check is accepted online.
Registration by form or cash or check can also be made in the Counseling Office if needed.

9th, 10th and 11th grade students who are in the AVID program DO NOT need to register. AVID students will be given the exam as part of their program.Please DO NOT pay online or in the office.

October 2nd is the deadline to order! We have a limited number of exams, so register early!
