It is my pleasure to serve as the Principal at Park Hill South High School.  It is a unique opportunity to have the pleasure to work with a highly qualified staff in excellent facilities that are backed by a supportive community.  The Park Hill School District is a great place to work and raise a family.  This is my 17th year with the Park Hill School District.  Prior to my current position, I taught math at Park Hill High School for eight years and served as an Asst. Principal at PHSHS for another eight years.  My wife and I have made our home in Parkville for  many years.  We have been blessed with two beautiful children who keep us busy at home.

Our time at Park Hill South has been exciting.  It does not seem that long ago that we were moving in boxes and preparing for school to start while the workmen were still finishing the final details of construction.  Since that time, Park Hill South has established itself as a high performing school with a distinct identity.

For the last five years our first Principal, Dr. Brad Tate, led us through the process of establishing PHSHS as a Professional Learning Community.  This model of continuous school improvement is guiding us in the transformation of a good school into an exemplar.  Professional Learning Communities emphasize a collaborative school environment that is focused on results with clearly defined learning outcomes and goals.  We have seen increased student learning outcomes each year that have been recognized at the national, state and local levels.
