Calling all athletes! Come join us or a speed and agility camp hosted by Coach Simpson. The camp will run for three weeks from February 25th – March 11th. The camp will take place here at South from 3:30 – 4:30 pm. Registration will take place Sunday, February 25 that 3:00 pm in front of the main gym. The cost is $10. Please see Coach Simpson or Coach Sharp for details.


Attention students who are enrolling for next year’s classes: Graphic Design is an elective option for students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors. If you would like to take the class but do not have it as a choice listed under fine arts, please just hand write the class on your enrollment sheet. See Mrs. Carson in C206 if you have any questions.

Beginning next year, current sophomores and juniors will be able to apply for an Early College Program offered through MCC-Business &Technology Center. These programs include Computer Integrated Machining and Manufacturing, Engineering Technology and Computer-Aided Design and Drafting,Automation of Industrial Machines, and Computer Science and Information Systems-CISCO. For more information, visit the Counseling Office website, rollover Enrollment, then select Professional Studies. Students interested in these programs can attend a field trip on Wednesday, March 7, to speak with students and teachers in the program. Applications are available on the Counseling website and in the Counseling Office and the deadline to apply has been extended to March 9.


The deadline to apply to a program at the Northland Career Center (NCC), the MCC-Business & Technology Center’s Early College Programs, and the Professional Studies programs has been extended to Friday, February 23. Programs at NCC for which PHS students can apply are Agricultural Education, Aviation Technology, Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Diesel Technology, Health Sciences, Heating,Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR), Industrial Welding, IT Professionals, Production Technologies, Law Enforcement/CSI and Teaching Professions.The MCC-BTC Early College Programs are Computer Integrated Machining and Manufacturing, Engineering Technology and Computer-Aided Design and Drafting, Automation of Industrial Machines, and Computer Science and Information Systems-CISCO. The Professional Studies programs include Internship, Education Services 2020, and Health Sciences Internship. KC SCHOLARS

KC Scholars is a scholarship program that will provide financial assistance and support services to low-and modest-income students in three categories:

*Traditional – current 11th grade students can apply
*College Savings Account/Match – 9th grade students can apply
* Adult Learner – Adults ages 24 & older with some college, but no degree

A minimum of 500 scholarships will be awarded annually. Deadline to apply is March 2nd.

MU School of Medicine- High School Mini Medical School

Session 1: June 17-21, 2018
Session 2: June 24-28, 2018

MU's High School Mini Medical School is geared toward current high school juniors interested in careers in medicine. It is a one-week experience designed to give students a preview of medical school. Program highlights:

  • Participation in medical school style curriculum
  • Introduction to Patient Based Learning (PBL)
  • Special Sessions with clinical and research specialists
  • Hospital tours
  • Hands-on experience in anatomy, suturing and clinical skills
